Emergency services responded to a serious multi-vehicle collision on the Mount Lindesay Highway in the Scenic Rim region on Monday afternoon, leaving two adults and one child with life-threatening injuries while another child was transported to hospital in a stable condition.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. at a signalized intersection near Beaudesert, prompting a major emergency response involving the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS), Queensland Police Service, and Queensland Fire Department. Paramedics, firefighters, and police officers worked together to provide urgent medical treatment, secure the crash site, and manage traffic as investigators began examining the circumstances surrounding the collision.

According to emergency officials, at least two vehicles were involved in the collision. First responders arrived to find multiple injured occupants requiring immediate medical attention. A child and two adults sustained serious injuries that authorities described as potentially life-threatening. They were stabilized at the scene before being transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

A second child involved in the crash was also assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital in stable condition. Authorities have not publicly released the identities, ages, or hometowns of those injured, citing privacy considerations as their families are notified and medical care continues.

The severity of the collision led to significant disruptions along the Mount Lindesay Highway, one of southeast Queensland’s major transport corridors. Police closed sections of the roadway while emergency crews remained at the scene for several hours clearing debris, documenting evidence, and ensuring the area was safe before traffic could gradually resume.

Motorists were urged to avoid the affected area and seek alternative routes as lengthy traffic delays developed throughout the afternoon. Officials also reminded drivers to exercise caution when approaching emergency scenes and to follow directions from police and traffic controllers.

Queensland Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. Investigators are expected to examine several factors, including vehicle movements, traffic signal sequencing, road conditions, witness statements, and any available surveillance or dash-camera footage. At this stage, authorities have not indicated whether excessive speed, driver impairment, distraction, mechanical failure, or adverse road conditions contributed to the incident.

No charges have been announced, and investigators emphasized that it is too early to determine what led to the collision. Anyone who witnessed the crash or possesses relevant information has been encouraged to contact Queensland Police to assist with the ongoing investigation.

The incident has deeply affected residents throughout the Scenic Rim community, particularly given that children were among those seriously injured. Community members have expressed hope for the recovery of everyone involved while acknowledging the tireless efforts of emergency responders who worked under challenging circumstances to provide life-saving care.

Authorities are expected to provide additional updates as the investigation progresses and as more information regarding the conditions of the injured becomes available. Until then, police continue to appeal for patience from motorists and cooperation from anyone who may be able to assist investigators with information related to Monday’s serious crash.
